I have been visiting Willen Lake for years and have always loved it. Unfortunately, I recently had a very bad experience with parking. I paid the correct amount and had proof, and after appealing twice to the parking company, I received the exact same response both times.
I even went to Willen Lake to check the signage myself — I was right. But to my shock, I then received another letter demanding £150 or threatening to take me to court. When I went back to Willen Lake again, I discovered they had changed the sign, which now shows new rates.
I had no choice but to pay the fine, which left me in tears. £150 may seem small to these companies, but this has had a significant effect on me, especially since I cannot afford it.
Please, anyone visiting: be careful. I have heard from several people who have received unfair parking tickets here. When they threaten court action, it is incredibly intimidating.
