点评：Diving the Gardens of the Queen with Avalon Diving was truly a memorable experience.
The reefs are pristine and the marine life incredibly abundant. Avalon Outdoor is the only liveaboard operator in Cuba and plays an important role in supporting conservation efforts and patrolling the majority of the Marine Protected Areas around the country. Regardless of how many boats are operating in Jardines during the week, they always limit access to one skiff per dive site at a time. This careful management of visitor numbers helps preserve the health of the reef while also providing a very special, almost VIP-like experience for divers.
For me, what stood out the most was the sheer number of sharks on every dive. They would peacefully swim past us — and sometimes right between us. Encounters like this are rare, and for me, they are a clear sign of a healthy ecosystem and proof that conservation works.
I also loved Lola, the goliath grouper.
Beyond the diving itself, I thoroughly enjoyed the boat and the overall organisation. The sales and reservations team were extremely helpful and responsive, providing detailed information to help us prepare for the trip. The boat (I was on Jardines 4) was spacious, comfortable, and clean. Meals were varied, fresh, and plentiful. The crew was friendly and attentive, and I appreciated the presentations on board, which were educational and focused on conservation.
If you love untouched marine ecosystems, sharks, and responsible dive operations, this is a must-do trip.
