We arrived about 10 minutes late for our reservation, which we fully acknowledge was our fault. However, from the moment we walked in, the manager was quite unfriendly and immediately told us the kitchen was closing. We were handed menus and told to order as quickly as possible or we might not be served at all.
We were also told we couldn’t order starters due to the kitchen closing, which added to the rushed feeling. After being seated, another staff member repeated that we needed to order immediately, so we felt pressured into choosing mains quickly without properly looking at the menu.
When the food arrived, my husband’s steak was decent, though quite overpriced for what it was. Unfortunately, my cod dish was extremely poor — it tasted overwhelmingly of lemon, to the point that it was sour and inedible. I only managed a couple of bites before asking to send it back and order something else.
I was then left waiting quite a while before being told that I wouldn’t be able to order another main course because the kitchen had closed. This meant I was left sitting there while my husband finished his meal on his own, which was very frustrating.
Eventually, the manager came over and said they had never received complaints about the dish before, which wasn’t particularly helpful in the moment. To his credit, he did remove it from the bill.
Still, the overall service left a lot to be desired. We were left waiting a long time just to order dessert (which I only ordered because I was starving) and the whole situation felt awkward and poorly handled. We left feeling like our custom wasn’t valued at all.
Overall, a very unsatisfactory experience, and unfortunately not somewhere we would return to.
