点评：we have been coming to Sandbanks beach along by the Haven Hotel for years now, we normally drive down 4 or 5 times during the summer and spend a whole day on the beach, more recently we have stayed over night in Poole and Bournemouth and spent the whole weekend on the beach, these beaches are gorgeous, when the sun is shining you really could be anywhere in the world, we have lived in Australia and travelled extensively to east asia and the Caribbean and spent weeks and months on some of the most beautiful beaches, Sandbanks really does stand upwell against these places, my only gripe is the amount of dogs that also use the beaches especially the coves as you get up close to the Haven Hotel, most of the dogs are well behaved and their owners respect other members of the publics right to sit on the beach in peace and quiet without having dogs sniffing around them, unfortunately there are a few that do not seem to care, they let their dogs off the leads and walk behind them, often 10 - 20 meters behind them and just watch them wander up the beaches, walking across families towels and beach ware, sniffing in their bags and just generally being a nuisance, its not until you start pushing the dog off your towel and away from your cool bag full of food that the owner half heartedly recalls the dog, by then the damage has already been done, I watched one owner sitting on the rocks at the end by the Haven hotel launching a ball for his dog to chase along the shoreline, about 30 - 40 meters, the dog was tearing along the shore line, flat out, chasing the ball and there was at least 5 - 10 people standing on the shoreline looking out to sea chatting with this dog tearing around in between them, it came very close to knocking a few people over, this went on for about 15 minutes! potentially dangerous, there are young children and elderly people using the beach, in and out of the sea, this type of thing is a regular occurrence, yes I know its a dog beach, but its also a humans beach who's safety and wellbeing must also be considered, its a real shame because most of the dog owners are respectful and keep their dogs under control, the few need to realise that not everyone their dog walks past thinks its a lovely ball of fur and wants to spend time stroking it or welcoming it onto their towels and picnic area, I have watched dog owners follow their dogs and allow them to just wander all over other beach users towels, blankets and picnic areas without so much as a care in the world, I don't blame the dog, I blame the owner, there does seem to be a degree of entitlement with some of them, I have seen 1 or 2 of the worst offenders walk into back gardens that back onto the beach the dogs are running around on so clearly they live there. for us the coves are the best part of Sandbanks beaches, its a shame they are being overrun with dogs more so now than a few years ago
