点评:We did the 3-day Mondulkiri Project and it was easily one of the best experiences of our Cambodia trip.
The trekking was quite tough, especially with the heat and humidity. We walked more than 50 km through the jungle, crossed rivers, climbed muddy and slippery trails and yes, there were a few falls along the way 😃 But that’s also what made it such a great adventure.
Of course, the elephants were the highlight. Seeing rescued elephants walking freely through the jungle was really special. No riding, no tricks, no chains. You simply spend time around them and watch them behave naturally.
I also really liked that the project is not just made for tourists. They are doing something good for the elephants, protecting the forest and supporting the local Bunong community.
Our guides were great guys and took really good care of us during all three days. We learned a lot from them about the jungle, elephants and local life, but we also had plenty of laughs along the way.
We finished completely exhausted, muddy and with very tired legs, but very happy 😃
If you are in Cambodia and want something a little different from the usual tourist places, I can definitely recommend this experience. Just bring good shoes and be ready to sweat! 😃
