点评:An Ear-Popping Experience! Our gondola brought us up to the top of the mountain - nearly 13,000 feet. I can't think of a time I've been at higher elevation. While I did not feel dizzy nor short of breath, I can see how one could experience both. We stopped at the little cafe and enjoyed some Ecuadorian hot chocolate, snapped some photos of the view and took a little walk around. From here, you'll walk past a dog park, surely the highest in the world. Then, there are trails you can take that bring you past some huge swings, plus several people with their animals where you can pose for a photo for a nominal fee. If you hike/ walk far enough, you'll get to a barbeque restaurant area and place where people can take jeep rides. The walk is on a steep, dirt trail, and not for everyone, but I had a nice time and got an amazing, heart-thumping cardio workout, being careful not to overdo it. I probably hiked for 30 minutes, then rejoined the group back at the dog park. The gondola ride back down was fun as well, and then we caught a ride back to our hotel at the base, which took some time. Expect a long queue for your ride to make it up the hill to fetch you. There's shade for you to stand in while you wait. I am very glad we went here.
