点评:As a Russian, I think I know every bend of it but this time around it was in Yaroslavl' that I tried to take a boat ride on it in August. I should have known better...
A drab scaffolded river terminal building. A ticket office hiding inside. A time-table decorating one of its walls. And now dig the subsequent procedure (XXIst century!!!):
a) enquire if the time-table is valid and whether a boat shall really go (better do it a day in advance),
b) come to the pier at least an hour before departure and take a place in the queue,
c) as soon as an empty boat moors, rush on board to buy tickets there since this is the only place on earth to do it (forget on-line booking!),
d) having obtained them, run to the deck (try to choose the upper one) to call dibs on best places,
e) exhale and enjoy your voyage.
If you think I had guts to try it, you're wrong...
It is the river per se which is excellent-rated, not that rat race.

(XXIst century!!!):
