Heaton Park的点评
点评：This is my go to place to walk my daughter's dog when staying with her, although really Heaton Park, Armstrong Park and Jesmond Dene all blend into each other - I'm sure locals know their way around but Reggie and I would find ourselves wandering, with me not really knowing where I was and Reggie just happy to stay out for as long as possible.
Other reviewers may not agree but, of the three locations, I think Heaton Park most closely resembles a traditional park, with a network of paved paths, lots and lots of benches for that sit in the sun, well maintained beds and a pavilion, now a restaurant (with well priced three course weekday lunch!), also two excellent playgrounds, one for younger children (enclosed by a fence, no dogs allowed inside) and one more adventurous one on the open field.
Whenever I have been there, I have never failed to see people working on the beds, shrubs, general parkland - whether employees or volunteers, they do a great job and maintaining a good balance between formality and 'natural'.
Plenty of bins around for poop bags and for those who aren't so keen on dogs, most of the paths are wide enough for being able to pass without even the most enthusiastic canine being able to make contact with a passer by.
There is parking off Heaton Park Road, perhaps more but we always walk there.
Just a wonderful resource for locals - and visitors!
