点评:Having been to this restaurant previously many years ago, I expected a good meal in a rustic establishment. The group I was with ordered a variety of meals and I chose the scallops with vegetables.
When the meal arrived I was flabbergasted by the size and number of scallops and expressed my disappointment to the waiter who was quite ambivalent. The meal cost $36 which was right up there in price compared with other establishments and the scallops were somewhat over cooked and tiny, about the size of a marble. Moreover, the cauliflower was uneatable, rock hard and the pumpkin mushy, but the potato was ok.
Admittedly, the waiter asked if I wanted the chef to give me more but as the size of the scallops and presentation I declined.
I ordered apple crumble for dessert and when it arrived it was actually cold apple tart with a scoop of ice cream and for what it was very expensive!
The waitress served the dessert before she cleared the dirty plates leaving the table quite congested. It was painfully obvious the staff had not been trained.
I understand the establishment has been taken over by a prestigious establishment and I am shocked that the owner would put his name to such a less than acceptable standard.
Upon paying for the meal I expressed my views to the cashier who commented that she would tell the chef whereupon I said I’ll be telling TripAdvisor. No offer of reduced charge.
Needless to say I certainly will not be returning to the Crown Inn and I doubt many if any of our group would do also.
