I am writing this review as a strict warning to anyone considering booking a yacht with Poe Charter Tahiti. Our group of 9 people recently fell victim to what clearly appears to be a calculated bait-and-switch scheme, resulting in a total loss of communication from the company and €11,031 in withheld funds.
The Situation in Brief:
We booked and fully paid for a brand-new 2026 Lagoon 43 catamaran. Less than 24 hours after our final payment cleared, Poe Charter Tahiti abruptly informed us the vessel was "unavailable." Instead of an immediate refund, they attempted to force us into significantly older, downgraded boats. When we refused these unacceptable alternatives and demanded our money back, the company completely ceased all communication.
Documented Timeline of Events:
• Nov 26, 2025: We officially secured a booking for a 2026 Lagoon 43 (named Poe Tea).
• Dec 17, 2025: We transferred the first installment of €3,309.30.
• May 6, 2026: We transferred the second installment (€3,309.30) and the final balance (€4,412.40), bringing our total paid to €11,031.
• May 7, 2026: Exactly one day after receiving 100% of our funds, the operator contacted us claiming a "delivery delay" for our booked yacht. They offered a 2016 Lagoon 400 S2 as a replacement—a 10-year-old vessel of a drastically lower standard. We firmly rejected this.
• May 12, 2026: The company proposed a second downgrade: a 2018 Bali 4.5. We formally rejected this offer as well and explicitly requested a full refund of our €11,031.
• Present Day: Total silence. Poe Charter Tahiti has ignored all subsequent emails, phone calls, and WhatsApp messages regarding our refund.
