点评：The Fisherstown Thatched Roof Inn is a truly special pub tucked away in County Laois, less than an hour from Dublin, yet it feels like you have stepped back in time. From the moment you walk in, the walls tell stories through the remarkable collection of teapots, photographs, signs, and keepsakes that Sean, the owner, and his wife have gathered over a lifetime.
Sean is exactly the kind of host you hope to find in Ireland—welcoming, generous, and full of warmth. The pub has an atmosphere that is hard to describe but impossible to forget: charming, friendly, authentic, and completely unpretentious.
It may well be the best pub we have ever visited. Within minutes, we felt as though we had been coming there for years. The locals could not have been kinder, and the conversations, stories, and easy welcome made the experience unforgettable.
To make it even better, we stayed directly across the street in the beautifully restored cottage, The Hollow. The combination of the cottage and the Thatched Roof Inn made for the perfect start to our Irish vacation. If you are anywhere near County Laois, this is a place not to miss.
