点评:If you are anywhere near Lisdoonvarna, you simply have to stop at the Roadside Tavern. Established in 1865, it’s one of the oldest and most atmospheric pubs in the region, and it feels like stepping into a piece of Irish history.
The food is on another level for a pub. Chef Peter Jackson has elevated the menu with locally sourced, seasonal ingredients. We had the Atlantic Seafood Chowder and the West Clare Wagyu Beef Burger, and both were spectacular. Don't miss the Burren Smoked Salmon from their own smokehouse next door—it’s easily the best I’ve ever tasted.
What makes this place even more unique is the Burren Brewery located right upstairs. I highly recommend trying a pint of the Burren Black (their in-house stout) or the Burren Red Ale; they are full of character and much better than the standard options you find everywhere else.
The atmosphere is exactly what you want from a traditional Irish tavern—cosy nooks, a warm welcome from staff like Bridie and Paolo and incredible live trad music sessions that usually kick off around 8pm.
