Highly enjoyable steam train journey - recommended! ☺️

点评：We took "The Quarryman" train from Blaenau Ffestiniog to Porthmadog and return, in standard class. We really enjoyed the experience. The narrow-gauge carriage was narrow but comfortable - we occupied 3 (of 4) seats around a table. The train left Blaenau Ffestiniog about 5 minutes late and was also 5 minutes late in returning. Staff were excellent - very friendly and eager to explain all aspects of the railway. The views on the journey down and back were wonderful. On the return journey we were in the carriage directly behind the narrow-gauge steam locomotive ("Blanche", built in 1893), and we could see the driver and fireman working in the cabin through the end of our carriage. We had about 2.5 hours stopover in Porthmadog, which was plenty of time for lunch and a look around (e.g. in the maritime museum). A great trip - especially if you enjoy a steam train! 😊
