点评：If you want a great battlefield guide for Normandy and beyond, I strongly recommend Sylvan Kast. We used his services in May of this year to assist in research for a book I am writing. Our needs were a little different than the average person wanting to see the battlefields and Sylvian embraced the challenge.
I first met him about a year and half before we traveled to France. Our adventure was not in Normandy which is where he lives and operates his business but in southern France. He was ideal for this task since he grew up there and had relatives that fought for France in that part of the country. For him this story was personal.
To develop our plan, we collaborated for a year, sharing information and ideas on how to make this a very productive research trip. Not only did he scout (do recon) on the location, but he also developed relationships with the locals who were children in the war or had family members impacted by those events.
Not only did he tailor a trip to my needs for a deep dive into those events, the others in the group who were not as well versed in the war were able to learn from him plus enjoy his company. In sum, if you are looking for a battlefield guide, Sylvan is the best. He brings knowledge, passion and charm to his guiding his guests. I am glad we selected him to help with the project and even happier to call him a friend.
