Lonsdale Eco Cruises的点评
点评：We took a Gippsland Lakes Eco Tour on the good ship Lonsdale on Melbourne Cup Day 2025.
The tour was fantastic and the commentary from the captain was very informative. We saw many, many seals, some swimming about The Entrance with lots more, including babies, lounging on the rocks along the shore. We also spotted a few dolphins frolicking amongst the seals. We spent quite a good amount of time idling in The Entrance. The captain explained that the seals are familiar with the Lonsdale and feel safe in its proximity. There are three different species of seals there, not that I could tell them apart.
We saw hundreds of birds take flight, mostly cormorants of three different types, and many other birds around the lakes including lots of pelicans and swans. We even saw a couple of endangered White Bellied Sea Eagles. We also saw a few kangaroos.
It rained a bit during the tour but we stayed dry under the cover of the boat except when we were hanging over the edge of the boat trying to get a better view. We were served some delicious, home made gluten free (requested in advance) scones with jam and cream for afternoon tea.
I highly recommend Lonsdale Eco Cruises for lovers of nature and scones.
