点评:One of the few old buildings of this type in Melbourne so that alone makes it worth a look. The gardens are of course much smaller than in the properties heyday but what is left is pleasant. There is a shop and a restaurant onsite and tours are available if you want to go into the house itself. In fact this is the only way to gain access.
The place itself is like any other of these and the tour will probably be of extreme interest to a few of the people on each tour and bore the brains out of the other half. But it's the only way to get in...
This would probably be a good place to take children to show them how a certain class of people lived 'back in the day'. Outside of that they may get a little bored. However it must be said that the staff are lovely and many of the fixtures and fittings of the property are quite charming.
I can't speak to the restaurant as I didn't eat there. Parking might be an issue - probably best to plan on parking a block away and walking - or at least being prepared to do so.
