点评：My advice is based on what worked for my group. Wear water proof mid length hiking boots, bring a ton of water and walking poles. You need the poles going uphill in the snow safely.
The December hike through the woods is not super hard for hikers. It’s hilly. There’s more snow at the very top at the grove where it was super cold the day we were there. It was mild at the start and freezing at the grove. Have quality gloves and warm hat that covers your ears for the grove walk.
Note that families tend to separate at the top. Some people want to rest by the bathrooms while others want to walk farther. Cell phones don’t work great up there so come up with a plan to meet up. Would have been nice for the park to add a bulletin board under the baby awnings where people can post old fashion notes for one another!
If you walk down at sunset, take the road and wear a miner’s headlamp. That worked well for us. The sunset was beautiful.
