Must visit! Great service, great people, great pub! Greatest experiences sometimes come from disappointment

点评：I was in the area for business, and the hotel I stayed at (The Old Rectory) recommended this lovely pub. When I arrived, I was first told they were out of flatbread for the Mediterranean veg kebab, so I switched to the tempura vegetables. A little later, I was told the usual sauce wasn’t available either but the chef kindly offered to make something from scratch, which I really appreciated.
I was also told they were out of vegan mayo for the house slaw, but they offered to make a Mediterranean salad instead, which I went for.
Despite the initial disappointment about the flatbread because that kebab sounded amazing, the food I ended up with was absolutely delicious. Funny enough, everything I ordered had some sort of out of stock issues, except the onion rings. And honestly, who would have thought that would be the best thing to happen? What I got instead was an 11/10.
The server was wonderful and genuinely caring, and the chef clearly put effort into creating something I could enjoy with the ingredients they had.
If you’re in the area, I’d definitely recommend stopping by. Great pub, great vibe, and great service. Thank you!
