点评：We were looking for a special Sunday lunch outing in the winelands and decided on a picnic at Hartenberg, based on some raving reviews. We had a wine tasting upfront, which was really good and we enjoyed comparing the different versions of Shiraz they had on offer. The red wines were superb!
However, the picnic was a completely opposite experience - what a disappointment and waste of money! The cold meats were bland, the vegan cheese tasted like carton, the salad included some wilted lettuce leaves, the vegetarian patties tasted like nothing and the vegan brownie was missing. We had no vinaigrette to go with the salad and the baskets were bulked up with bread to make up for the low quality food, but without any butter - probably to save on costs. And the cherry on top was when the waiter had the audacity to automatically add a 15% tip for his (lack of) efforts! The picnic area was almost deserted, which should have been an ominous sign, especially on such a lovely summers day. Please avoid this picnic and spend your well-earned money somewhere better!
