点评：The new owners have absolutely made this place a joy to visit and could not be more helpful, welcoming and eager to please. The pub feels bright and airy once again.
Gone is the stuffy atmosphere and the oppressive feeling that once filled the establishment. Gone is the terrible food which gave the impression of frozen, or microwaved. Gone is the judgement, strict rules and restrictions on things such as dogs.
The food is fantastic, all made lovingly and very well. The sausage rolls and other snacks sat in the bar display cabinet, while often dark-looking, are very good. Don't let the dark pastry put you off! Try them! You won't be disappointed.
The pies that are made are also really very good. The steak and stilton in particular is beautiful, with tender meat in generous chunks, trimmed well with no gristle or fat and a well-balanced ratio of stilton inside that satisfies without leaving you feeling a little queasy.
The clientele seem to have altered slightly too. They are rowdy and rambunctious, but in a god way. Friendly, jovious, up for a laugh without any hostility or malice. And the dogs are always a welcome sight!
The beer garden out the back is a brilliant area, with really nice flower borders and lots of space to chill with access to the play park (Codnor wreck) for kids, as well as the large field adjoining for dogs.
I highly recommend you visit if you are ever in the area, or even if you've been putting it off.
