点评：Birthday celebration for 12 guests
Booking a table for our party was simply a telephone call and a small deposit of £5.00 per person to secure the reservation. We were requested that guests could view the extensive menu online and once everyone had made their choice it could be telephoned prior to the evening.
A few guests arrived early to place a few decorations on the tables, balloons and confetti. The tables (two in total were side by side), we appreciate this is to enable the waiting staff to safely deliver hot food to guests but would have preferred the tables being connected to make it easier for everyone to chat more freely. A small niggle and it didn’t spoil the evening as guests freely moved from table to table to socialise.
The restaurant appeared busy and there was a real friendly buzz amongst everyone who were enjoying their meals. Once all our party had arrived we were greeted by a waiter who took our order of drinks promptly. These were bought to the table quickly and with a smile by another member of the waiting staff.
There was an appropriate time between receiving our beverages and the food serve. Due to our party not seeing one another as often as we would like, there was ample time for everyone to say ‘hello’ and for the birthday guest to receive cards and gifts.
Meals were presented really well and the proportions of food were generous. The waiting staff were friendly and efficient. Meals consisted of T-bone steak, lasagna, burgers, steak and ale pie, fish and chips, etc. With so many different choices, everything was hot, tasty and great value for money. Compliments to the chefs!
This traditional country pub/restaurant in our opinion is excellent. We believe the good management, great cooks and friendly and hardworking writing staff are a winning combination.
On behalf of our special birthday guest and everyone in our party, sincere thanks for making the celebration a real treat.
