Terrible service and food, a shame as the pub is charming.

点评：I visited the Mall yesterday with my family and I was disgusted with the service by Carl who worked behind the bar.
After ordering a round of drinks we ordered 3 meals off the menu with Carl at the bar. I ordered a pie and chips and two fish finger butties with chips and curry sauce, (all was well).
The pub was nearly empty and we waited at least 30 minutes for the food to come out, (which we thought was strange). When the food eventually came out it was cold. Carl came and took it away and when it came back his demeanour had changed completely, (slamming the food on the table). All of the food had been microwaved and the toasted bread around the fish finger sandwiches had gone sloppy underneath. I obviously went to the bar to ask for a refund for the fish finger meals. Carl told me that under no circumstances could I have a refund for my food as there was nothing wrong when it originally came out and definitely wasn’t when it returned. I was extremely annoyed with this so I got my meal and took it to the bar. I pulled off the bread, showing him it was sloppy. Adam who was also working behind the bar at this point agreed that the food was not right and refunded me for my fish finger meals. My daughter ate her meal but the experience had been totally spoiled.
I asked for the name of the owner but Adam told me he couldn’t give me that. I also couldn’t find the name of the licensee in the pub anywhere.
When I went to the toilet before I left a local came in the toilet. He said to me that locals don’t eat here as the food is terrible. He then gave me a list of other places to eat. We visited Petwood. It was fantastic and wasn’t anymore expensive for the drinks or bar menu and I would highly recommend it.
