点评:The Basilica di Sant'Ambrogio had a more somber presence than most of the churches I've visited in Milan.
Maybe because it was quite dark inside or bigger than most churches I've visited during my time in Milan.
As one of the oldest churches in Milan, it honors St. Ambrose, who served as the bishop in the 4th century. He is regarded as one of the Church fathers and the patron saint of the city.
Walking through its arches and columns, you can’t help but admire the intricate designs and craftsmanship.
The basilica has a beautiful courtyard which is hard to see on a rainy day, which is when I visited.
Entry is free and there were quite a few people inside but not a large crowd.
There are impressive artworks inside, including mosaics and altarpieces that reflect the rich artistic heritage of the region.
II wasn't here long but it was on my list to visit.
The basilica is closed from 12 pm - 2:30 pm.
