A Fun Day Out at Sioux City – Better Than Expected!

点评：After reading some of the recent reviews, our expectations for Sioux City were fairly low, but we ended up thoroughly enjoying our day. We used the free bus service from Puerto Rico, which picked us up at 9:20 and got us there in about an hour.
The shows are nicely spaced throughout the day, leaving plenty of time to wander around the town, explore the buildings, enjoy the short horse-riding experience (€10 for about 5 minutes), and even feed the goats. We used the first two breaks to look around and the third for lunch.
Lunch was reasonably priced, especially for a tourist attraction in the middle of nowhere, and the portions were huge — we even wondered if we should’ve shared!
Sioux City was originally a film set for westerns back in the 70s, so it’s important to go with the right expectations — it’s not Universal Studios. I think some reviewers may have expected something more modern, but we found it charming, entertaining, and unique.
The bus back to Puerto Rico left at 3:15 pm, which allowed us to enjoy all the shows without feeling rushed.
Practical tip: Take plenty of sun lotion, antibacterial wipes or spray (especially if you plan to interact with the animals), good footwear, and a hat — it can get very hot and dusty.
Overall, a relaxed and enjoyable day out that exceeded our expectations.
