点评:Had apprehensions before attempting the summit, but gave it a go anyway. Started around 6am from Mucumbli lodge (nice place, great people, good food, quiet, peaceful atmosphere, and the right eco and sustainable mindset, highly recommend). The walk from the drop off point along the colonial horse and cart track through the plantation up to the abandoned village was ok, beyond that, grade and difficulty doubled quickly and i was blowing out of my ass with the humidity. I persevered for an hour, and when Abraham my guide told me another 3 hours of it, plus worse to come, i made a call to turn back around 11am. I was never making it (43 yr old man, 20 a day habit). We had a poke around the hydro tunnels, aqueduct and waterfall on the way down, which, as a civil engineer, was marvellous (dodged some snakes, saw monkeys and even a few pidgeons, what a treat). My guides Abraham and Mano from Mucumbli lodge were top class lads. I would highly recommend giving it a go, my only advice would be to know and respect your limits, it's not a walk in the park or without risk.
