点评:Managed to get visit just before they close on 4 January.
A warm welcome from the Volunteer (whom I believe was also the Buggy Driver) at the exit to the car park towards the property, always a good start.
This continued at Reception..
Coffee first, friendly helpful staff, service could have been a tad quicker but coffee was excellent.
The Arthurian display in the great barn was truly amazing, the information boards, Christmas trees, period music, lighting, tableaux. Central to the display incredible willow knights in combat.
In the Abbey itself the rooms were beautifully decorated for Christmas culmulating with the now traditional display down the more modern-day staircase by the sewing group, so much detail, the planning and stitching must have taken hours.
Note: it would be good to have a idea of just how long it took from planning to completion along with the existing acknowledgements.
Special mention to volunteer William in the final room, very engaging and informative and the ladies in Drake's room.
As always the shop was well laid out and inviting. The staff were naturally friendly too, not pushy, but genuine.
Finally, 'The goodbye is as important as the welcome' and it was, a cheery 'Thank you, goodbye' as we got back to the car park.
Well done and thank you - see you next year
