Fantastic Ski Area in the High Alps

点评：Les Arcs is a fantastic, varied ski area. From challenging blacks, to long tree lined blues, it has it all. Fast, modern lifts, combined with some long runs let you spend more time skiing and less time sitting. Valandry has some lovely reds amongst the trees. The high plateau has a great mix for all levels. If the snow is good, the black then red down to Villaroger from the Aiguille Rouge gives you 2km of vertical and a huge run. If you don't fancy the top black section, then you can access it from Lanchettes lift in Arc 2000 and still get about 1.6km of vertical difference. When it comes to lunch, three strong recommendations; Le Chalets de L'Arc near Arc 200 is superb, really excellent food and ambience, especially on a sunny day. In Valandry, Enfants Terribles is a great lunch spot at the top of the gondola lift and if you want a bit of cabaret with your lunch then Folie Douce above Arc 1800 is the place - the food is also very good. And final tip, use the free access to La Plagne for at least a day trip to get a bit of variety - the skiing is quite different on the other side of the hill.
