点评:I was really excited for this museum, having worked in bookstores and childcare most of my life. The best part was the cost (free), but I would have rather paid a bit for them to show the place some love. There are a few play areas with dress up and drawing tables for kids, but they all feel dated and uncared for. There are a few interesting pieces of art and draft pages from specific authors/illustrators, but I really expected more. I didn’t see anything from the Ahlbergs, Lewis Carol or JK Rowling, and I wanted more about Julia Donaldson and Dorothy Edwards. Even the Quentin Blake stuff could have more info. They spent a large section on The Borrowers (good) but missed a big opportunity for the kids by not making a world of oversized objects to play in. Don’t travel far for this. If you are local and have little kids, it’s fine.
