点评:This is an interesting house and Dr. Grenfell was an important and interesting guy, who knew a lot of famous, important people. The house has 90 percent of his belongings, but I wish the tour had been guided, or at the very least they would have had more cards describing the furnishings and personal belongings and more importantly, the life of Dr. Grenfell. I read something on a placard that told where he went to medical school and why he came to Newfoundland, but that isn’t the same as a docent talking about the history of a home and the person who lived in it. The home isn’t air conditioned and on an August day, it was hot, especially upstairs. There is a short trail behind the home where Dr. Grenfell and Lady Grenfell are buried (I think), but we didn’t notice it and the two high schoolers manning the desk were too busy laying on the daybed looking at their phones or eating lunch to mention it.
