Gotemba Premium Outlets, the best of both worlds!! :=)
御殿场奥特莱斯购物城的点评
点评：I’ve been to different outlets out there from different countries and parts of the world but there is one outlet in particular that steals my hearts and minds and its my ultimate favourite outlet of all time anywhere in the world, located in Gotemba in Japan’s Shizuoka prefecture - The Gotemba Premium Outlets!!! With more than 200 stores and direct access to Tokyo in many modes of transport - the one that made people really excited to visit Gotemba is its location - it is situated on an extensive site within view of World Cultural Heritage site, Mt. Fuji, the most beautiful mountain in the world!!!! If you ask me where is the best spot to view Mt. Fuji - Gotemba Premium Outlets is the place to be!!!!
We took the bus from Tokyo station Yaesu south exit to Gotemba outlet directly and costs around 38K Yen for round trip and an hour and a half per trip depending on the traffic. You could purchase ticket directly on the station or online and this is the most convenient way of travelling from Tokyo to Gotemba if you have nowhere else to go except here. The other ways you could join a Group tour with a stop here, hire a private service or via local trains which takes quite some stops. The first bus leaves at 8 in the morning from Tokyo and the last bus at 8 in the evening from Gotemba. It also stops in Shinjuku and as we near the outlet we could already Mt. Fuji at the right side of the bus on a clear day. Tip - Mt. Fuji and its stunning snow capped peak is mostly visible during Winter. The parking lot gives you another iconic presence of the majestic mountain behind you and this is also one of the best stops to take your lovely photos and videos. This is the first zone and stores are already here like Coach and many more including the food court. To cross the inward zone, you need to pass on the wooden suspension bridge and this is the most amazing and tranquil walk we’ve ever been on an outlet - we could see the Majestic mountain getting closer and closer and it greets us across the horizon - another perfect spot to take your lovely photos and videos!!!
Gotemba is divided into 3 zones: West/East and Hillside. Hillside is the inward zone and in between the East and West zones. There are plenty of food and cafe options in Gotemba including famous Western and Japanese brands but if you’re looking for authentic Japanese food then look no further - Gotemba Food outlet located in the West zone just before the wooden bridge. Here we have tried Udon, Hamburg steak, Takoyaki, Karage, Ramen, Curry, Soft served ice cream and other international cuisines like Chinese food and just like other Japanese eateries water is free of service. Just outside the food outlet, you behold and ho you will cross paths with that iconic bridge and the majestic ethereal beauty of Mt. Fuji.
While you on the inward zone going East, there are many benches, parks and snacks/drinks along the way together with hundred of brands delighting your walk along the way including famous brands of Nike/Adidas/NB/Gucci/CK/North Face/Onitsuka Tiger and much more stores selling clothes, shoes, perfume, accessories, high end brands, jewelry, watches, sports apparels and bags to name a few. There are elevators and escalators going to the upper floors and lots of clean toilets which is expected as always in Japan which is a big plus!!!
As we near the Hillside, there is a long escalator going up and ho and behold you will see a wooden platform with an impeccable and stunning view of the Majestic Mt. Fuji!! This is another perfect spot to take your lovely and memorable photos and videos with the famous snow capped mountain in your background. Its also a good place to have some food or drinks or coffee/tea/snacks while marvelling and relaxing at its glorious beauty!! As you move further East, you would see a small but charming amusement park with Carousel and Mt. Fuji on the backdrop - what a magical and wonderful sight and place to relax and sit down after shopping and walking. In this side, there are also cafes and snacks to choose from but there is no Food hall as compared to the West side.
So there you go, Gotemba Premium outlet is the best outlet and place to be if you want to experience good deals, famous shops and a stunning view of Mt. Fuji at the same time. There are 3 spots to take the best photos and videos of Mt. Fuji - Bus stop/parking, Wooden bridge and Hillside zone!!!
