点评：We took a very scenic walk from the Quail Island Ferry wharf. We did the Quail Island loop track that included the historic barracks, replica leprosy cottage and the ships graveyard. The track offered a reasonable amount of shade and was a good walking track. The views of the bay towards Diamond Harbour and Lyttelton were spectacular from numerous vantage spots along the way. We walked around the island in a clockwise direction. There were several uphill and downhill sections on the track but no stairs. It was mostly downhill from the Caretakers hut to return to the Ferry wharf. In our opinion there is a steeper incline at the beginning of the loop if you go anticlockwise rather than clockwise. It took approximately 2 hours to complete the return journey to the wharf, walking at a leisurely pace. We did not go to the summit.
