Wonderful wines, lovely family

点评：We stopped here on our way to Kaikoura to taste some local wines and perhaps buy some for our self care catering evenings.
We were not disappointed. These winemakers are special, with true artistry, a lightness of touch, and a (overused word) passion which shines through quietly and calmly.
Where to start?
Well, the stand out wines were in no particular order:
The Chardonnay - lovely. We all loved it.
The Verdelho - great minerality and breadth.
The Pinot Noir - so light, fruity and yet substantial in flavour. Great tannins.
The tawny port - smooth, fruity but without the heaviness of a more traditional port although there were delicious hints of toffee!
The Late Maggie late harvest riesling dessert wine - gorgeous, with a wonderful green apple acidity which provided a perfect balance to the sweet caramel.
Other wines were very good, but maybe less to our taste. The Rosé in particular was a bit special with lovely rose water notes.
Our friends loved the Gewürztraminer and Riesling too. And my wife, who does not tend to like Sauvignon Blanc, liked this one!
We came away with presents for friends in the UK and for our dinners at home here.

我们的朋友们也很喜欢琼瑶浆和雷司令。就连我妻子，平时不太喜欢长相思，也对这款赞不绝口！
我们买了些礼物送给在英国的朋友，也买了些带回家享用。
