An Abbey followed by an ice-cream to Remember!
库姆堡村的点评
点评：We were dropped off by a bus at Castle Combe , a picturesque village, from Chippenham at around 1 PM. The driver said he would be back only at 5 PM to pick us up. We had a leisurely lunch at castle inn then had ample time to just enjoy the flavour of this beautiful little place. The manor house had some events so entry was restricted and hence it was just us tourists ambling around one of the most beautiful of the villages of the UK .
A relaxed day after our trip to lacock ( another lovely village and the abbey is the place behind Harry Potter fame!) Portions of Downtown Abbey and Pride and prejudice are supposed to have been shot there .
It was a beautiful and bucolic of the UK villages. Straight out of Enid Blyton's!
A tip worth remembering. Just keep some loose cash ready if you want to indulge in some mouth watering ice-cream sold by Ann and help yourself to some lovely cakes made by her neighbour.
Anyone wanting to visit both Lacock and Castle combe by bus, get yourself the Wiltshire day pass. It works out much cheaper.
