点评:Six of us were visiting and tried beforehand to get details of pricing, disabled access from the website but unfortunately couldn’t get information. Neither telephone numbers were connected and no response to email. However, we went anyway. One thing we had noted was that 2026 prices were stated at £12.50 (see photo) so imagine our surprise when we were charged £18.00 per person, no concessions and no carers free admission for disabled guests (who would not be able to come on their own), that which seems to be ‘the norm’ in most places now.
Our guide Cynthia, was very informative and pleasant but we did feel cheated at no access to upstairs, stables and dairy, which made the admission price rather high for the tour that we were given. Whilst we appreciate the cost of inflation, a rise of £5.50 in a year seems somewhat steep.
Two of our party had visited previously, pre covid and really enjoyed a complete tour, hence their recommendation for us all to visit. They were extremely disappointed at the reduction of viewing and all in all we felt very let down. Some sort of refreshments room would be advantageous too!
Website desperately needs updating too, to provide full and complete details on visiting.
We were given a free guide book which was also outdated - total misrepresentation of what we saw.
All in all a very disappointing, expensive visit!
