点评:As a kid I often looked up into the night sky and wondered about what I was seeing. It led me to dreaming about space, reading science fiction, a career in Science and Engineering, and finally organising STEM conferences to spark the interests of the next generation. I was only in Perth for a week so I thought I would pay a visit.
What a great night out! Run by a fabulous crew of volunteers we received a tour of the cosmos, space and time. Saw stars ranging from the cradle a few million years old to those in their teen angst (several hundred millions). I had lots of questions of course and the knowledge of the volunteers was amazing. We saw several nebulas, discussed which spiral arm of the Milky way we were on, wondered about the age of the Universe, queried when Betelgeuse would finally go supernova and what it would look like, and were awed by a clear night's view of the starry night sky.
I left with a greater appreciation of us and our place in the universe.
