点评:We ducked inside around 2 PM on a muggy August Tuesday just to get out of the direct sun across from the Water Tower, and we ended up staying nearly an hour because the space is incredible. What blew me away was how they built this intimate theatre right inside the old limestone pumping station, with the active water pumps still humming behind glass right next to the lobby. You stand there on the polished floors looking up at the colossal iron pipes and rough-hewn stone walls, which feels like you stepped into a secret steampunk lair. The blend of working city infrastructure and performing arts architechture is really very unique, and the staff member at the will-call desk was happy to chat with us about the history while we took it all in. We walked in on a total whim and it made our entire afternoon walk down Michigan Avenue so memorable.
