点评:We stopped here on our return to Richmond. I wanted to see the special exhibit about the Revolutionary Valley celebrating the 250th anniversary. It’s a well done exhibit. The information about an enslaved woman, Sarah Strother, and her fight for freedom was most informative. There are interactive activities to engage everyone. I especially enjoyed the one about becoming a surveyor. We also enjoyed the permanent exhibit of life in the Shenandoah and the amazing collection of miniatures. And then there are the quilts! Just so much to see. The museum complex is much larger than we anticipated. We didn’t have time to enjoy the gardens or visit the historic house. So we will need to return. If you are driving through the area, it’s well worth a visit! You can buy discounted tickets online. But the entry fees are very reasonable.
