Course well maintained but too many poorly laid out holes to justify the hefty price tag.

点评：The course was very well maintained with greens that were slick and true. The course is priced at the premium end and having played most of the courses in Lisbon and the Algarve, I would not rush back to play Oitavos Dunes. The par 3s are excellent but all the par 5s are poor holes. Not challenging and a bit boring.
First four holes offer a gentle start but then the course becomes very open and exposed with many holes running side by side which gives a public course feel.
Then you reach the 8th which is a poorly designed hole. Thereafter, holes 10, 11 and 12 are challenging but hole 13 runs parallel to hole 11 so players get too close to one another and have to wait for one another to play. This also slows down pace of play. Holes 14 and 15 are back to back par 3s. Hole 16 is a very open and dull par 5 which runs beside hole 13 and again means players mixing and waiting potentially.
Holes 17 and 18 give the course a strong finish.
I feel that there are better courses locally for less than €177.
