点评:We decided to go to Kaloko-Honokohau Historical National Park, without much planning, and didn’t know much about it. This is the historic site of an entire ancient Hawaiian community. Interesting to read about at the small Visitors Center, and then we decided to walk the trail to the beach. We did see a very interesting fish pond and 2 goats. Otherwise the signage wasn’t good, and we didn’t really know where we were or what we were seeing. We did make it down to the beach, and what we supposed was a fish trap. Other hikers said there were lots of turtles, but we only saw a couple. Parts of the path were paved, then ?crushed lava, then big flat stones, and gravel. It was hot and sunny, no shade, and a long walk. To get the most of the visit, it would likely be best to download the app (which we weren’t aware of). Good walking shoes, sunscreen, hats, lots of water! Lots of free parking and washrooms at the Visitors Center.
