One Room Museum About the Loon
The Loon Center的点评
点评：The Loon Center is one of several one-room museums in New Hampshire; or more accurately, it is an organization headquarters with a nice gift shop, a museum annex, and access to hiking trails. To get to the center you must go on a couple of miles of unpaved roads. As I was pulling in, they were putting ‘no parking’ signs around the entrance, so if there is a special event or sudden rush of people parking may be an issue. As it was, my compact car was a bit boxed in by the time I went to retrieve it.
The room about Loons has a good amount of information and given the space there probably isn’t a lot to add. It has a children’s play area which is something of a drawback in that the kids were loud while we were attempting to watch a short video (available on request). Another quasi-interactive exhibit could use some sprucing-up.
While I wouldn’t rate it “must see” for the area, you do get your fill of loon information and getting out in the woods is nice when the weather co-operates. Also, the organization seems like a worthy cause .
