点评：Government Botanical Garden is one of the most popular attractions in Ooty, spread across nearly 55 acres of beautifully landscaped greenery. The garden is generally open from 7:00 AM to 6:30 PM, and the entry fee is around ₹100 per person.
The botanical garden is huge and divided into several sections, some of which are located on higher terraces that require a bit of climbing. The place is home to a remarkable collection of rare trees, plants, ferns, and orchids. Among the major attractions are the rare Cork Tree, believed to be one of the very few of its kind in India, the Paperbark Tree, the unique Monkey Puzzle Tree, and an impressive fossilized tree trunk estimated to be around 20 million years old.
Another highlight is the fern house, which contains around 127 species of ferns along with beautiful orchids. The glass house is especially attractive and adds to the charm of the garden.
With its vast area, diverse plant collection, and scenic surroundings, visitors can easily spend 2–3 enjoyable hours exploring the garden and taking photographs.
