点评：Disappointing stay. Certainly doesn’t feel like a grand chateau, more of a forest manor house.
Our room was in a modern extension. No character or connection to the main house. Dark with a small window and no privacy.
After a very long drive we hoped to relax in the grounds but the only option was the spa area a long way from the house and they closed it an hour after we checked in. So the only option was to go back to the room and lie on the bed in a dark room.
A cycle through the forest for half an hour would have been nice but they only rent bikes for half day minimum and we didn’t feel like paying €40 for the short time that we had. Feels very tight to charge for bikes on their grounds on top of expensive room rates.
Apparently there is a lounge in the main chateau but nobody told us or showed us it so we discovered it only after dinner. Still not somewhere that you’d want to sit. No bar, just sparsely furnished rooms.
The separate restaurant building is large and service good. Meals were generally good but wouldn’t want to eat there more than once.
Lots of apologies from the staff for the lack of facilities and excuses of how none of it is finished and they are working on building a pool and more rooms.
In my opinion they don’t have the right priorities and it felt unprofessional and lacking.
The staff were all lovely and I feel sorry for them having to deal with unhappy guests. Hopefully in time the owners will be able to provide a more pleasant environment.
