点评：Qenqo was a particularly enjoyable experience for me, mainly because it’s very close to the city of Cusco, yet it has a completely different atmosphere. It’s easy to reach on foot, so the walk there is already a pleasant part of the experience: you gradually leave the noise of the city behind and slowly arrive in a calmer, more historical setting. It’s not a demanding hike at all, more like a relaxing little excursion that can be done at a comfortable pace.
What stood out to me about Qenqo is that it isn’t crowded—it’s much quieter than the more popular sights. This gives you time to stop, look around, and think about how the Incas may have used the site. The rock carvings, passages, and shapes carved into the stone are fascinating, even if you’re not approaching it from a deeply academic perspective. It’s really the overall atmosphere that draws you in.
I really liked that Qenqo isn’t “too much,” yet it still offers a strong experience. You don’t need to spend hours there, but it still leaves a lasting impression. It’s an ideal program for a day when you want to move a bit, get some fresh air, but don’t feel like going on a long or exhausting excursion.
