点评：We went for a couple of hours to the gibbon rehabilitation centre followed by a short walk and dip in the nearby waterfall. We had such a lovely time.
We were shown round the gibbon sanctuary by a Swedish volunteer called Mikael (I hope we’ve spelt his name right). He explained the awful things that have happened to the gibbon community owing to the popularity of the babies in the “entertainment” business. Don’t ever agree to have your photograph taken with a baby gibbon, undoubtedly its parents and other members of its family were killed in order for the baby to be acquired. Gibbons are also kept as pets but discarded as they grown older and more aggressive. It was all very sad for these beautiful and intelligent, sociable creatures. The job of the rehabilitation centre is to get families of gibbons back in the wild. The process takes a lot of patience, skill and understanding. If you are staying close to this centre we highly recommend that you go and visit them. The combination of that and the trip to the waterfall made it a most enjoyable 2/3 hour trip.
