点评:Lewes Historical Society is awesome. We got the $10 combo ticket that lets you visit all of their trio of paid-entry museums rather than paying $5 per person for each. This review is specifically for their Main Campus at Shipcarpenter Street. We walked the grounds and did a self-guided tour using the brochure map picked up from an outdoor self-serve box by the campus entrance. We visited at the end of the day so some things had already been closed up, but we loved how well kept the old 1890s schoolhouse and old tavern were. The campus was very peaceful. We wished we were going to be in town for the tavern's history night! Also one of the houses is used as a coffeeshop in the mornings, wish I'd been there early to see that too. The thing that really blew my mind is that, aside from the Hiram Rodney Burton house where we picked up our map, every building has been MOVED to this campus. I cannot imagine moving such fragile historic buildings! Just wow. We parked a couple blocks away by the Ryves Holt House (also owned & operated by the society, but has free entry) and walked down to this area. Very pretty walk. Great historic district feel.
