点评:Warning! Watch your step when crossing the paved area in the grounds of the National Palace of Culture, from the Vitosha Boulevard to Nansen Street.
There is a set of steps which you simply cannot see on approach, as the area looks completely flat. There are no coloured, or indented paving stones on approach to warn you of these steps, nor any handrails, as is usual. I only realised that there were steps, when I was falling on them, and I did myself an absolute mischief, cutting my left knee open, tearing the ligaments in my right ankle, and badly bruising my right hand.
To add insult to injury, it then took the National Palace of Culture 2 weeks to respond to my email warning them of the hazard, and asking them to put it right. When they did respond, they told me that the responsibility for “outdoor areas” lay with the Municipality of Sofia.
Unfortunately, I couldn’t alert the Municipality to the problem, as they have no email address, and I live in the UK. I therefore asked the National Palace to tell the Municipality urgently about this trip hazard, but ‘answer came there none’.
I’m afraid therefore that the National Palace richly deserve this bad review - my first ever - as it is now the only way of warning people to be very careful, as you just won't see this hazard on approach,if you don't know about it.
