点评:Stunning ancient town within the impressive fortifications.
Don't get distracted by the tourism - it appears to have become very commercialised in the last few years. Look past the shops and people, and get away from the main Stradun (high street) to see the old architecture of the tall and grand buildings. You'll find small statues, sculptures, emblems and features. There are many narrow side streets, and these come with many steps. Advertising is poor, and exploring is the only way to find hidden gems. Food ans drink is likely to be cheaper way from the main drag.
Pigeons are aplenty, so be prepared for them flying closely past your head, and strutting around your feet. If you're a fan (or not) there's a feeding of pigeons in Gundulić Square at midday.
Many cats can also be found, but these won't always be friendly, and tend to stay away from the main tourist drag.
I've other reviews on specific venues/attractions, but don't miss the Maskeron, and the Memorial Room of Fallen Dubrovnik Defenders.
