点评:We did the standard half-day visit to Porvoo from Helsinki, and came away wondering why the town has earned such high reviews. Getting to/from Porvoo from Helsinki is certainly simple and inexpensive, and bus service from Helsinki Kamppi bus station is regular, but once there it seemed there really wasn’t much to do. Crossing the main bridge to the other bank to photograph the historic riverside warehouses is nice, the Cathedral up the hill is impressive, and if one explores uphill from the Main Street there is some lovely architecture to see and photograph. That said, we found the rest of the town to have a bit of a touristy feel, although incredibly the tourist information office was closed on a holiday weekend (good thing we had managed to pick up a walking tour map elsewhere). Although a handful of restaurants in town have reasonable reviews (we stopped for excellent coffee at Porvoon Paahtimo Bar & Café, and for some delicious home baked goods at Café Rosie), most restaurant ratings are average at best. Similarly, there do not appear to be many shops that sell unique items. All told, Porvoo is worth a half day just to see why it is so popular, but If you plan to include Old Rauma (UNESCO World Heritage Site) in your travels, don’t bother.
