Interesting, Historic, but also Overpriced, Hot, and Crowded

点评：The archaeological ruins at Ephesus Turkey are indeed impressive and even awe-inspiring. The terrace houses and the Ephesus Experience Museum presentation were both interesting and well worth checking out.
So why only three stars? We got to Ephesus early morning, in mid spring. It was already warm but still pleasant. Not at all crowded; more cats than people. But an hour later, everything had changed; it was now oppressively hot in an open stone area with little shade. Ephesus was awash with tourists, some in small groups, and some with larger organized tours. Everyone jostling for the perfect photo or selfie.
Additionally, the famous amphitheatre was closed for archeaological restoration, while much of the rest of Ephesus was closed to the public as well, for unknown reasons. This resulted in the the experience being limited to one main thoroughfare and a few short offshoots, limiting exploration.
We were fortunate enough to be using the Museum Pass, but if not, entry to Ephesus is 40 Euros, with entry to the terrace houses another 15 Euros. With the heat, the crowds, and the closure of so much of the city to visitors, I found the visit to be interesting, but not always enjoyable.
