Ok to go for the natural environment
Aswan Botanical Garden的点评
点评：We did this optional tour while on a Nile cruise. We boarded a motorboat to the island where the garden is located. You ascend steps from the dock to the entry way. There are toilets at the entryway and a restaurant. I didn't use either so can't comment.
We walked along the well-kept paved walkways almost a straight path from one end to the other. There are some side paths to overlook the Nile.
Many of the trees are marked. There are vendors all along the way to ask for you to buy what they have including small crocodiles. I think they were more for photos than for sale. I avoided all intersessions.
I was glad to see lots of birds on the island. We saw a whole tree of Reed Cormorants and two African Green Bee-Eaters. The Bee-Eaters are distinctive and easy to identify. There were some small birds we could not identify. We did take binoculars with us.
It was pleasant enough being on the island walking in the garden. The motorboat ride to the island was pleasant too.
The garden is on Kitchener Island, just alongside Elephantine Island. Apparently, there is also city ferry to the island.
We were here in October so maybe not the best month for catching the full beauty of the garden.
